I have spent the majority of my life right here in Fresno. I'm happy to be serving the community that I've lived in for so many years. I graduated from Fresno State and went on to UC, San Francisco where I graduated from Dental School. I then came back to Fresno and completed a General Practice Residency at University Medical Center Hospital. Soon after that I opened my own private office in 2003. In early 2010 I then took over Dr. Scott Peters' dental practice as he decided to pursue a new field in dentistry. I'm a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Fresno-Madera Dental Society, and The Academy of General Dentistry. I have also obtained my fellowship in The International Congress of Oral Implantologists. I'm committed to continuing education and training in advanced techniques in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, implant dentistry, prosthodontics, and full mouth rehabilitations. I have studied under some world-renowned clinicians such as Dr. John Kois at the Kois Center as well as Dr. Carl Misch at the Misch International Implant Institute. My wife and I enjoy spending all the time we can with our precious little daughter. I am just learning the art and science of photography and one of these days I'll get back into playing the guitar. Lori- Office Managaer Lori is from Kingsburg. She earned her dental assisting degree from Reedley College, graduating in 1982. She joined Dr. Peter's staff in November 1998 and remains as office manager as Dr. Michiel came into the practice. Lori has two adult sons and two grandchildren. She currently resides in Clovis with her husband Bryan and two step sons.
Marlene- Patient Coordinator Marlene is from Kerman but currently resides in Fresno. She also graduated from the Reedley College dental assisting program. She was with Dr. Sharp for many years and stayed on when Dr. Peters came to the practice and now works with Dr. Michiel. Marlene is married to Garey and has two lovely daughters.
Cheri- Patient Coordinator Cheri is doctor Michiel's wife and played a huge role as office manager in his first office seven years ago. After having their first baby recently she decided to shift her main focus on the new baby but she still does alot of work for the office from home.
Amanda- Patient Coordinator Amanda graduated from Fresno City College with a Business Administration A.S. degree. She transferred to California State University, Fresno and studied Business Public Relations. She plans on graduating with a B.A. in Mass Communications and Journalism. Amanda volunteers her free time with Animal Compassion Team (ACT), a local non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization. She enjoys traveling with her husband of five years, Christoffer, and watching American Idol with their three dogs and two cats.
Mary- Registered Dental Assistant Mary is from Reedley. She earned her dental assisting degree from San Joaquin Valley College in 1991. Mary joined Dr. Sharp's practice in 1997 and worked with Dr. Peters and now with Dr. Michiel. She currently resides in Fresno with her husband Omar and their two children.
Monica- Registered Dental Assistant Monica joined our team when she moved to Fresno from Santa Cruz in 2004 with her husband. They bought their first home then and have two cats. Monica enjoys cooking, scrapbooking, and nearby traveling to some of her favorite places along the coast and Lake Tahoe. According to Monica, dental assisting is rewarding because she enjoys getting to know patients while helping them achieve and maintain oral health in a safe and comforting enviroment. She's great with kids and looks forward to making their visits fun!
Gloria- Registered Dental Assistant Gloria lives in Kingsburg with her husband Tony. She has two adult children and two grandchildren. She earned her Registered Dental Assistant degree from Reedley College. She joined the practice in 2006.
Donna- Registered Dental Hygienist Donna hails from Caruthers. She earned her dental assisting degree from Reedley College and her dental hygiene degree from Fresno City College. Donna joined Dr. Sharp's practice in 1968 and worked with Dr. Peters and now with Dr. Michiel. She currently resides in Fresno with her husband Jim and has two adult children and several grandchildren.
Tami- Registered Dental Hygienist Tami came from Modesto to complete her dental hygiene degree at Fresno City College. She graduated in 1992. She worked with Dr. Sharp, Dr. Alexander, and Dr. Peters. She remained when Dr. Michiel came in. Tami currently resides in Fresno with her husband, Ryan and their three children.
Martha- Registered Dental Hygienist Martha began working with us in May 2009. She was born and raised in Fresno and continues to live here with her daughter. Martha earned her Registered Dental Assisting degree in 1990 from Galen College. After working for several years as an assistant she returned to school to earn her Registered Dental Hygiene degree which she completed in 2004. While in the hygiene program at Fresno City College she earned the prestigious "Golden Scaler" award.
Valeri- Registered Dental Hygienist Valeri was born and raised in Fresno. She recieved her degree in Dental Hygiene from Fresno City College and her Bachelors degree in Health Sciences from fresno State University. She enjoys photography, sports, especially the New York Yankees, and health & fitness. She and her husband Jim are local business owners of a nutrition and supplement store in Clovis. .
Brigiett- Registered Dental Hygienist Brigiett has enjoyed a career in dentistry for 15 years. She worked as a registered dental assistant for many years. In 2009 she earned her Registered Dental Hygiene license from Fresno City College. She currently retains both licenses. Brigiett is a total body health advocate, believing that the health of your body begins with a healthy mouth. Brigiett lives in Clovis with her two children and their cat Trixie. |
